The Fuller/Watts house stands on property originally patented by Eugene F Skinner in 1860. JB Fuller, president of the Eugene Lumber Company, began construction of the house in 1891. In 1893, Fuller gave the finished house as a Christmas gift to his wife, Mannie.
Joseph O. Watts, the first trained optometrist in Eugene bought the house on Jan 10, 1919. He and his family lived there until his death in 1934.
The house is a typical Queen Anne style with an Italianate Portico, 3 window styles, no gables, corner tower and bay windows. It was originally wired for electricity with a single lights in the entry, parlor and dinning room. No electricity to the kitchen. It is built of local Douglas fir and cedar with balloon construction techniques. The only hardwood in the house is the steamed, bent stair railing and maple fireplace mantle.
